Itanagar: Expressing concern over “frequent interference” of politicians in matters related to transfer and posting of government employees, the Arunachal unit of NCP on Friday appealed the state government to adhere to guidelines without any dilution.

“Since progress, peace and prosperity of the state is directly dependent on good and transparent governance with a strong and visionary political leadership, the use of government employees to get narrow political gains must be avoided at all costs,” NCP state president Kahfa Bengia said in a statement.

Bengia felt the overstay of government servants at a particular place is often mired in unnecessary controversies, which are not in the interest of the person as well as in the vibrant functioning of parliamentary democracy. “In view of the Panchayati Raj Election in May this year, the government must ensure that the concerned district head of departments or any other group A and B officials hailing from that very district and connected with discharging Panchayati Raj related duties should be posted out to ensure free, fair and smooth conduct of the important Panchayati Raj Election,” he said.
