SHILLONG: South Khasi Hills Youth Development (SKHYDO) has appreciated the commitment made by the sitting legislator and Congress candidate Pynshngainlang N Syiem to get Mawsynram its own Civil Sub Division if he is re- elected.
“This assurance of the sitting legislator is totally in sync with the demand of the organisation for creating a full fledged Civil Sub Division in Mawsynram which has been the dream of the people of the constituency for the past many years,” SKDYO publicity secretary P Myrthong said in a statement issued here on Friday.
He informed that the organisation along with other NGOs and traditional institutions had constituted a Joint Action Committee (JAC) to persuade this demand for the creation of the Civil Sub Division with the Government.
