Accidents across the State

One person was killed on the spot while four others sustained injuries when a truck (ML-05F2344) driven by one Edingstar Marngar of Mariaw village, moving to Mariaw from Rambrai, hit a pedestrian at Phodumbah, and afterwards went off the road and fell into a gorge. Four injured occupants of the truck were admitted at Shillong Civil Hospital while the driver was admitted at Mariaw PHC.

A Guwahati bound TATA Sumo from Aizawl overturned in the middle of the road at Shohshrieh under Laskein Block, West Jaintia Hills on February 11 around 2pm. G Kiran Kumar (32, M), John Christopher (30, M), D Sudhakar (28, M) and N Samattan Kumar (29, M) were admitted to KJP Mission Hospital, Jowai.

A driver of an auto-rickshaw carrier sustained injuries when the vehicle went off the road and into a school field at Rambrai under Nongstoin Block, West Khasi Hills on February 11 around 1pm. The driver was trying to avoid a collision with a pedestrian walking on the road. He was shifting to Nongstoin Civil Hospital.

One Ramesh Ch Marak (70, M) sustained injuries after he fell off a moving motorbike near the BSF Gate at Dobasipara under Rongram Block, West Garo Hills on February 10 around 6pm. He was shifted to Christian Mission Hospital, Tura.

Four people sustained injuries, when the auto-rickshaw they were travelling on fell into a culvert which was under repair, near Megatgre under Samanda Block, East Garo Hills on February 10 around 7pm. The injured Jamal Sangma (55, M), Dipalson Marak (45, M), Creving Sangma (32, M) and Renu Sangma (35, F) were shifted to Williamnagar Civil Hospital.

In all the above cases the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance helped to shift the injured to the hospitals.
