Extortion, theft
In a rare case, unknown miscreants on February 9 stole two brass flower pots and one sports trophy from the house of Dr (Mrs) Didey Laloo at Nongrim Road, Laitumkhrah. The miscreants also stole two wrist watches and a purse containing Rs 2,001.
On February 9, police arrested four persons – Bobby R Marak (32), Enith G Momin (30), Manseng K Sangma (28) and Clean Ch Marak (30) – while they were extorting money from trucks by using duplicate receipts at a place between Thapa Darengchi and Rongkamminchi in North Garo Hills. Police seized Rs 13,500 from their possession.
One Kalbot Suchiang lodged a complaint on February 9 at Jowai PS that unknown miscreants stole Rs 30,000 and one licencsed .32 revolver valued around Rs 3,30,000 from his house at Phra Mer in West Jaintia Hills.
On February 8, Gabirsingh Hashah and Elpingstone Hashah, who were travelling in a motorcycle (ML-05J-5206), were accosted by six masked miscreants at Kalagaon in South West Khasi Hills. The miscreants looted three mobile phones, Rs 18,000, two EPICs, one PAN Card and the documents of the motorcycle.
On February 8 at around 5 am, one unidentified person entered the house of Md. Malik Ali at Fire Brigade, Shillong and snatched Rs 800 from him.
One Debosis Das lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on February 5 his driver Imtias Ali stole seventy bags of cement valued around Rs 24,000.
Threat case
On February 9 night, Skhembor Kyndait threatened his mother, Kril Kyndait with dire consequences at Khliehtyrchi in West Jaintia Hills.
Assault, arson
On February 8 at around 10.45 pm, one Kitbok Kharrngi (31) stabbed his younger brother, Kenny Kharrngi (23) at Malki. Police have arrested the accused.
Arrests
Police arrested one Mul Dkhar in connection with a cruelty upon woman case at Jowai PS.
Jowai Police have arrested Shait Dkhar alias Wanbor Dkhar in connection with a rape case filed at Jowai PS.
Police arrested Pranding Wanniang (36) in connection with an extortion case lodged at Mawkyrwat PS.
