NONGPOH: Creating a name in the political history of Nongpoh Assembly Constituency by becoming the first lady candidate to battle out against political stalwart and MPCC president D D Lapang, UDP candidate Rona Khymdeit expressed full hope of representing the constituency as its lady legislator. Khymdeit was addressing a large gathering of people coming from villages under Raid Mathan & Raid Nongtluh in a meeting held at Umden organized by the UDP, Umden Sub Circle on Friday afternoon.
The Advocate turned politician assured of accountability and transparency if she was elected to power as the first lady legislator from the prestigious Nongpoh Constituency in the ensuing legislative assembly election.
Spelling out her election agendas, the lone lady candidate in the district said her priority was to improve the health sector, provide potable drinking water, proper road connectivity and boost the education sector and improve power supplies.
She also said that her thrust areas would be to improve the agricultural sector and ease the unemployment problems of the youths besides assuring the people of eradicating corruption and malpractices.
On her decision of entering the fray against political giant of the state, Khymdeit said, “I took this decision of contesting election as to be able to bring about change and development in the constituency as we are still lagging behind in many fronts after 41 years of statehood and I appealed to the people to give her one opportunity of serving them.”
