SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister Bindo M Lanong has asked Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to direct the Assam Police to restrain from interfering and disturbing the voters of Meghalaya and to stay away from the polling stations along the boundary belt when the State goes to polls later this week.

In a letter forwarded to the Assam Chief Minister, Lanong sought his intervention to ensure that the Assam Police personnel do not take undue advantage of the situation and harass residents of Meghalaya inhabiting the areas along the inter-state boundary.
