Vice raid
Sohiong Police on Sunday conducted a vice raid at Sohiong and seized 21,09,930 ml of IMFL and 1,70,000 litres of illicit liquor and arrested Arbor Thabah, Franklin Thabah, Jeremy Malngiang, Wea Nongdhar, Bia Thabah, Phrista Thabah, Krietsa Thabah, Phiril Malngiang, Thornia Kharrngi, Nestorius Shabong, Dhan Kharrngi. Further, nine illicit liquor distilleries were also destroyed at Mawkynthei, Sohiong and around 16,000 litres of country-made liquor was destroyed at the spot. In this connection, police have arrested three persons.
Police of the Pasteur Beat House seized 50,000ml of IMFL and 500 liters of illicit liquor which were abandoned at Polo Bazaar.
Four local liquor factories were destroyed by the police, out of which three were located at Rympana and one at Nongwah under Pamsangut Sirdarship near Tyrsad. Around 50,000 litres of local made liquor have been destroyed. Police also arrested three persons, Manikstar Umdor, the Sirdar of Pamsangut Sirdarship and two others – Na Rangsilang and Sumorlang Myrthong.
On February 15, police conducted vice raid at Nangberam, Gabil and Wakok areas, NH-62 in East Garo Hills and seized 3.5 litres of IMFL from the possession of one Bedila A Sangma.
New-born dumped
On February 17 at around 3 pm, the body of a new-born male was found floating on the Wahumkhrah. Cadaver was sent to Shillong Civil Hospital for post mortem examination. Matter is under enquiry.
On February 17 at around 3 pm, one unidentified male person (38) was found lying unconscious at Mawblei, Shillong. He was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. Matter is under enquiry.
On February 15, one unidentified male body (50) was recovered from a paddy field at Sentapara in West Garo Hills. Necessary formalities have been observed. Matter is under enquiry.
Theft
On February 16 night, unknown miscreants stole a brand new Bolero pick up belonging to one Kume Kumar Singh from Garobadha in West Garo Hills.
On February 15 at around 1 am, three minor boys (aged 15, 12 and 13 years) stole grocery items and some coins from the shop of one Nessilla Shylla at Demthring, Shillong. Police have arrested all the three.
On the night of February 14, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08B-7453) belonging to one Redsindro Ch Marak from his residence at Balonggre in West Garo Hills.
Rape
On February 15 around 4 am, Daniel Rani and Sanlang Syngkli allegedly raped two minor girls (both 14 years old) at Patharkhmah in Ri Bhoi. Matter is under enquiry.
