SHILLONG: Congress candidate from Nongkrem constituency Lambor Malngiang said that if the people pressed the button of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in his favour then he would the press the ATM button to bring development in the constituency.

“I assure you that I would make all possible efforts to give a facelift to the constituency.”

“I am also committed to work for uplifting the economic condition of the poor people in the constituency,” Malngiang said while addressing a public rally at Laitkor on Wednesday.

He also said that this time if he is elected, he would bring more development to the constituency if the Congress gets absolute majority.

‘Being the Congress MLA, it would give me an upper hand to avail the various centrally sponsored schemes since the Congress led UPA Government is at the Centre,” the Congress candidate from Nongkrem said.

If matters go against him and the people eventually reject him after the counting of the Assembly election on February 28, he said that he is going to retire from politics.

“I am sure that the people would not commit the same mistake like they have done in 2008. I am pretty confident that they would help to win by a thumping majority,” Malngiang said.

Other who spoke at the public rally is Congress candidate from Pynursla Prestone Tynsong among others.
