SHILLONG: The United Democratic Party (UDP) has called upon the Chief Electoral

Officer (CEO), Meghalaya to curb the activities of some senior officials of the government who are allegedly acting at the behest of the Congress party. “It has come to our notice that some senior officials of the Government have been acting as agents of the Congress party instead of conducting themselves in a free and fair manner. If this is the attitude then we are afraid that the elections may not be conducted in a free and fair atmosphere as is desired and propounded by the Election Commission of India,” the party’s working president Paul Lyngdoh said.
