Hoping Stone back in House for 11th straight term

The ‘grand old man’ of Meghalaya politics, Hoping Stone Lyngdoh, who is the HSPDP president, emerged winner once again from Nongstoin seat to confirm his entry into the State Legislative Assembly for the eleventh time in a row.

The HSPDP chief defeated his closest rival and protégé Dr Advisor Pariong (Congress) by a margin of 2456 votes.

It is worth mentioning that, Hoping Stone has been an MDC for eleven terms, besides being a member of the 6th Lok Sabha representing Shillong constituency.
