Body recovered

On March 2 at around 8:50am, the body of a woman identified as Sangita Kour (29) was recovered from Ward’s Lake, Shillong. She was reported missing since February 27. Necessary formalities have been observed and investigation is in progress.

Assault and threatening case

lOn March 1 at around 10pm, unidentified passengers assaulted the driver of a Tata Sumo (AS-01-DD-0302), Nayan Malik (24/M), at Ryndangbriew, Mawlai.

lOne Drosshan Malang lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on February 26 at around 7:30am, Richard Lyngdoh and Pait Sutnga threatened him with dire consequences and also damaged his property at Mawpun (EJH).

lJ.G. Siangboad lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on February 23 at around 10:30 pm, Sen Dkhar and his accomplices pelted stones at his residence at Dkhiah East (EJH) and also threatened him and his family members with dire consequences.

Arson

One P. Koch lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on February 26 at around 9 pm, unknown miscreants burnt down his motorcycle (ML-08A-4288) at Dobasipara, Tura (WGH).

Theft

lOn February 25 at around 9:45 pm, on receipt of information that unidentified armed miscreants were looting the truckers at Umdang (WKH), Shallang Police rushed to the spot but the miscreants had already fled. Later, during investigation Police arrested Jalim G. Momin (19/M), Santosh W. Momin (18/M), Pintu R. Marak (20/M), Tengkan R. Marak, Subot R. Marak (18/M), Salman Khan Sangma (18/M) and Sindal N. Momin (23/M).

lBeat Forest Officer of Adokgre (NGH), George Winstar Sangma lodged a complaint that on February 24 at around 1:30 am, unidentified miscreants numbering 25 went to the Forest Sub-Beat Office, threatened the staff with dire consequences and snatched two cell-phones from Jubil Sangma and Dueng Marak. Thereafter, the miscreants forcibly loaded twenty-six pieces of timbers from Reserve Gittim Sub-Beat Office.
