SHILLONG: A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5. 2 on the Richter scale shook parts of the Northeast including Shillong on Saturday morning.
According to the Upper Shillong Seismological Observatory, the tremor which occurred at 7 am had its epicenter in Karimganj district of Assam along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
There was no report of any damage to life or property anywhere in the city.
