Nagaland Congress member’s supporters join NPF

Kohima: The NPF party of Tuensang Sadar-I Assembly Constituency has warmly welcomed the mass merger of Congress party with the NPF party led by the family members of late P. Chuba Chang, former MLA, who passed away on February 22 last.

In a release issued by the President of Naga Peoples Front Tuensang Sadar Assembly Constituency Committee Impongsoted and General Secretary Zhelo Yimchunger said that the mass merger of Congress party to NPF has been initiated in order to support NPF candidate L Elam Chang of the Tuensang Sadar-I Assembly Constituency during a joint meeting of NPF and Congress party on Saturday.

It said that all the office bearers and members of the Assembly Constituency Congress Committee (ACCC), Area Mahila Congress Committee (AMCC), Area Youth Congress (AYC) along with all the Ward and Village Committee members of Congress Party of Tuensang Sadar-I Assembly Constituency has unanimously decided to render unconditional support to NPF candidate L Elam Chang under the able leadership of Dr. Shurhozelie, president NPF and chief minister Neiphiu Rio,.

It may be mentioned her that the Congress Candidate of the Tuensang Sadar I Assembly Constituency P. Chuba Chang expired on February 22, just one day ahead of Nagaland Assembly Election, for which the ECI had ‘adjourned’ the election of the Constituency for February 23 and ‘rescheduled’ for March 23 next. Congress has to put a new candidate before March 06 for the election. (UNI)
