SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, along with other senior leaders, is likely to visit New Delhi to finalise the list of Cabinet ministers after the oath taking of the newly elected 60 legislators.
Sources on Monday said majority of the AICC leaders were not in Delhi which has resulted in the delay in finalization of the list of Cabinet members.
Many senior AICC leaders were currently in Tripura and AICC president Sonia Gandhi would not take any decision without consulting party leaders like Ahmed Patel, Shakeel Ahmed and Digvijay Singh, the sources said.
“The list is likely to be approved by the AICC president only in the coming week,” the sources added.
Meanwhile, sources also revealed that the Cabinet would be sworn in after March 9 since Governor RS Mooshahary would be out of the State from March 7 to 9.
Most of the Cabinet ministers in the MUA Government are likely to be retained in the Cabinet even as there is the likelihood of new faces being accommodated including Deborah C Marak, Zenith M Sangma, Sniawbhalang Dhar/ Comingone Ymbon, Martin M Danggo and Clement C Marak.
