Thefts

The West Jaintia Hills police have arrested two persons for stealing trucks loaded with coal and selling them illegally on Sunday afternoon. The duo was arrested after an FIR was field by one Chandradhan Singha of North Tripura that his truck (As 01BC 2775), loaded with coal was was missing from 7th mile Pasyih where he had parked it. Following a search operation, police found the truck at Shohshrieh and arrested two persons Santosh Nongrum of Umlahar Ri Bhoi and Pelki Pale of Umulong. West Jaintia Hills SP Herbert Lyngdoh informed that both the arrested persons are notorious and they have committed similar crimes in the area before. He also informed that the police is still investigating into the matter so as to find out their links with other groups committing similar crimes.

On March 4 at around 3 am, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero pick-up (ML-10A-5886) from Pahamsohthri village (RB).

One Allan Rymbai lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on March 3, unknown miscreants damaged his vehicle (ML-10A-6866) which was parked at Lumdiengjri, Shillong.

On March 2 at around 4.30 pm, one unidentified miscreant stole one cell phone and Rs. 29,200/- from the shop of one Aditya Jasaria at Bawri Mansion, Dhankheti, Shillong.

On March 2 circa 4.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one laptop computer from a vehicle (ML-05K-2164) belonging to one Gladborn Momin, which was parked near Garo Baptist Church, Shillong.

Assault

On March 3 around 9 pm, unknown miscreants assaulted one Michael Kharkongor (46) at Mawiong, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

One Samed Hussain lodged a complaint at Rajabala OP that on March 1 at around 8.30 am, two persons, Sahajamal Sheik and Md. Air Hussain assaulted him at Haripur village (WGH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries.

One Sahajamal Sheik lodged a complaint at Rajabala OP that on February 28 evening; Samed Hussain threw crackers at his house at Haripur village (WGH) and also assaulted him and his family members. As a result, the victims sustained injuries.

On February 28, Raj Kishore Hajong and his accomplices assaulted one Hangso Hajong at Tikrikilla (WGH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries.

Bangladeshis apprehended

One Thio Suchiang, Secy., KSU Umkiang Unit lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on March 2, KSU Members of Umkiang Unit apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals, Md. Masum Mohammed (18), Md. Alla Ahmed (22) and Md. Sizir Ahmed (19) at Umkiang (EJH). Later, all of them were handed over at Umkiang PP. Recently, as many as six Bangladeshis were apprehended by the BSF.

Threat

One Graceful Sumer lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that during the past one week, her daughter (16 yrs) has been receiving threatening calls from cell phone No. 9863517231.
