Rape

On March 8 circa 9.30 pm, Police patrolling party signaled one Bolero Jeep (ML-06-5685) to stop at check point, instead, the vehicle fled away and on reaching at Wakok the Bolero dashed against a truck. Police arrived at the PO and arrested the driver, Francis D. Sangma, while his three accomplices managed to escape. During enquiry it transpired that the arrested person along with his accomplices had picked-up a minor girl (17) from Nongchram village. Later, the girl lodged a complaint at Rongmil that Francis D. Sangma had raped her inside the Bolero.

Arrest

On March 8 at around 8 am, the police and army arrested one Santosh Marak (39) during a joint operation at Rajasimla (NGH) and seized one 9mm pistol along with magazine and one country-made pistol from his possession.

Assault

On March 9 at around 7.30 am, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Livingson Lyngdoh Mawphlang (32) at Demthring, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Arson

On the night of March 8, unknown miscreants set on fire one compressor machine at Shangbangla (RB), one hot mixer machine and one vehicle at Saiden (RB) belonging to Ramky Infrastructure.

Threat case

One Marshal Biam lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on March 6 at around 5 pm, Skhem Rymbai and Deibor Suchiang threatened him over telephone at Ladrymbai (EJH).

A woman lodged a complaint at Amlarem PS that on March 1, Lam Khyriem attempted to rape her and also threatened her with dire consequences at Moosakhia village (WJH).

Theft

One Subra Deb lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on March 7 unknown miscreants stole computer monitor, CPU, extension board and two computer keyboards from NIFT Campus at Lawmali Shillong.

lOn the night of March 5, unknown miscreants stole Rs. 55,000 along with gold and silver ornaments from Lakshmi Mandir at Khatalbari village (WGH).

lOne Pawan Kumar Choudhury lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on March 9, unknown miscreants broke into his house at Paltan Bazar, Shillong and stole Rs. 1,49,000.

Damage

One Khagendra Deb lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on March 6, while he was in Silchar, his house owner Deitina Mawrie along with five others entered his shop at Laitumkhrah, Shillong and destroyed stock of medicines and other goods. On March 7, when he had gone to enquire about the matter, the house owner threatened him with dire consequences.
