Goods worth 38.16 lakh seized

SHILLONG: Acting on a specific input, Mobile-Check-Post (MCP) laid by BSF intercepted a Tripura bound Truck TR-1T-1625 at Sonapur bridge which was carrying Palmolein oil.

After the search, BSF sleuths recovered 37 Cartons of Phensedyl containing 5550 bottles in addition to the 100 Tins of Palmolein Oil.

The BSF apprehended the driver and co-driver of the truck who were identified as Tapal Nama Das (25) and Raju Deb Barma (18), both hailing from Tripura.

The Total value of seized goods is Rs Thirty eight lakh sixteen thousand four hundred eighty seven.

The apprehended persons have been handed over to the concerned department for legal action.
