JOWAI: The Lamdibok-led Executive Committee has appointed Jowai Central MDC, Moonlight Pariat as the new Chairman of the of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) Planning Board.
The appointment of the new Chairman was notified a day after the budget session on Wednesday.
Pariat, an Independent member was known as the lone active opposition member of the House and with his appointment as the Chairman of the Planing Board, the JHADC might be left with no opposition member except for some of the Congress members who wanted to topple Lamdibok Sumer from the CEM’s post.
Pariat took over on Thursday.
