SHILLONG: The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) will hold a sit-in-protest on March 25 in front of Raj Bhavan gates of the respective states to demand for immediate fulfillment of NESO’s charter of demands including effective measures to check infiltration.

The NESO had submitted the demands to the Prime Minister earlier. The resolution was taken recently after the members of the organizations met to discuss on them and other issues concerning the region as a whole.

Resolutions adopted by NESO include proper education policy and human resource development, repeal of all the draconian laws, check on infiltration of illegal migrants, implementation of Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873, popularly known as (Inner Line Permit) system to the entire North Eastern Region, economic and infrastructural development, etc. The NESO also wanted special constitutional status and separate time zone for NE region.

The NESO team will visit New Delhi to meet the Prime Minister as well as the central leaders in April. NESO will also hold its General Council Meeting at Arunachal after the team is back from New Delhi.
