SHILLONG: Two local football clubs – Rangdajied United FC and Langsning FC – will face each other in a crucial match of the 2nd Division I-League in Bhopal on Friday.

Both Langsning and Rangdajied, who are locked in Group A, will have to win Friday’s match to improve their chances of making it to the final round of 2nd Division.

Langsning had an impressive start to the tournament with a thumping victory over Kohima Komets 7-0 and then drew with Kenkre FC, of Mumbai, in their second match.

Rangdajied, on the other hand, did not make an impressive start as they were defeated by DSJK Shivajains by a narrow margin, 2-3.

After a disappointing start, Rangdajied came back strongly by winning back-to-back-matches against George Telegraph (1-0) and Kenkre FC (3-0).

When contacted, Langsning coach L Darlong said that he is expecting a good contest as both teams know the strong and weak points of their opponents.

“We are hoping for a victory to climb up in the points table,” Darlong said.

Rangdajied’s coach Khlain Pyrkhat Syiemlieh is also hoping to see a good contest. He said that his team’s defence will have to check the two formidable strikers of Langsning – Daniel Bedemi and Joel Yinka Ayeni – in order to have any chance of winning the contest.
