AIR concert enthralls Shillongites

SHILLONG: With an aim to promote local talents of the State, the All India Radio–North Eastern Service organized a free concert entitled ‘Band Bonding’ at U Soso Tham Auditorium here on Friday.

Through such events we aim to tap and promote talents of the Northeastern region, programme executive from AIR, Freedy Dkhar said adding that AIR has always acted a s a platform for young budding talents.

Bands like Shyllong, Lau Majaw and friends, Soulmate, Colours, 4th element, Ron and Friends (Assam), Fringes (Manipur), Evenflow (Mizoram), Withered (Tripura) and Alobo Naga and the band (Nagaland) electrified the stage, pumping and enthralling the audience with their musical vibes.

Stating that the event was aired live all over the country, Dkhar said the concert was held especially for the youth.

Former Home Minister RG Lyngdoh, who was the chief guest on the occasion termed the performing bands as the ‘cream of northeast’.
