SHILLONG: The National People’s Party (NPP) has blamed the frequent power cuts in Garo Hills as one of the reasons for the dismal performance of Garo Hills in the SSLC and HSSLC exams.

NPP State youth president Aldous Sangma on Tuesday lamented the frequent power cuts in Garo Hills at a time when the Board examinations are going on.

“If the situation continues to be like this then how we can expect the students of Garo Hills to do well in their exams,” he said.

He informed that power shortage is at its peak in Garo Hills as power supply was once again disrupted on Tuesday evening affecting hundreds of students preparing for their exams.

“The Power Minister is from Garo Hills and he should understand the ground realities,” Sangma said while demanding regular power supply in Garo Hills.
