Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh became the first state to introduce e-GPF with the state Finance department facilitating online access to 34,000 GPF accounts through its redesigned website, which was formally launched by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.
“The website will help the public to access all updated fiscal information including 34,000 GPF accounts besides pensioners, who from anywhere in India could avail information on their hard earned pension and fastest disposal of RTI cases,” Finance secretary Swati Sharma informed.
The website www.arunachalfinance.in has a number of features to make it citizen-friendly and to bring in more transparency and accountability in respect of works in the Finance department.
“This is the beginning of a new era of transparency and accountability of the government,” Tuki said Thursday after launching the website in presence of his ministerial colleagues, parliamentary secretaries and departmental officials.
Tuki observed that with all the information available on the website, citizens as well as government employees would not find the necessity to make rounds of the Finance office for each and every work.
Also, he felt applications seeking information under RTI would come down as all information needed are available on the site.
The website, developed by the department with technical assistance from NIC is interactive with facilities to download forms such as medical reimbursement, GPF Final Payment, which would be quite beneficial for government employees, particularly pensioners.
So much so that one can even track files movement and get the latest status at the click of a mouse. (PTI)
