SHILLONG: The militants after killing the two jail staff did not even spare two pet dogs of a teacher in Williamnagar.

As per the inquiry report, the Magistrate examined independent witness Marsin Momin, an LP school teacher, who was at home with his family when the incident took place. The teacher heard continuous firing from the jail complex and suspected that there must have been a jail break. Simultaneously, there was constant barking of dogs from their house and he also heard footsteps of people as if they were running along the road towards Dawagre and Sampalgre village, the Magistrate said.

“As they (militants) escaped they shot two dogs and it was only next morning that the teacher realized that one of his dogs had died while the other escaped with bullet injury. He is clueless over which group had attacked the jail,” the report said, quoting the teacher.
