SHILLONG: The State Police on Sunday informed that it was close to cracking the case related to the recovery of the body of a girl from a forested area in 12th Mile area in Ri-Bhoi District as it has recovered vital clues on the identity of the person who had allegedly lured to girl and then sexually assaulted her before killing her.
Sources on Sunday informed that police have obtained clues following which they have established that the person who had allegedly lured her had committed the crime.
The girl’s body was found in a semi-naked state in a forest, 500 metres from NH-40 in Ri-Bhoi District.
Sources also informed that police would be able to solve the case in another two-three days as they have already identified the girl as a resident of West Khasi Hills District.
