Chiefs to meet today

 SHILLONG: The Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya, will meet on April 3 at Lumbasuk, Demthring, to discuss the letter from the KHADC to the Chiefs, on the proposed 6th Schedule Amendment Bill 2012 to the Constitution of India and also the need for fulfillment of the solemn national commitments agreed in the Instrument of Accession and Annexed Agreement signed and accepted by the Government of India on August 17, 1947,

The Grand Council will also discuss the upcoming meeting with Ranee Narah, Union Minister of State, Ministry for Tribal Affairs, on April 8 and 9 in New Delhi. This meeting is a follow up to the invitation by the Union Minister of State, to the Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya to meet her in New Delhi, during their brief meeting held in Shillong on March 12.
