SHILLONG: The State Home (Police) Department has approved and sanctioned a new police outpost at Sohiong in East Khasi Hills District to be named as the Sohiong Outpost.
The outpost is bounded by Nongkhlaw Syiemship in the north, Mylliem Syiemship in the east, Pamsanngut Sirdarship in the south and Nongspung Syiemship in the west.
On creation of the Sohiong police outpost, the areas coming under its jurisdiction shall cease to be under the Mawngap police outpost.
