SHILLONG: The functionaries of ‘Shree Shillong Gausala’ filed an FIR on Saturday with the police against some miscreants for assaulting the milk van driver on Friday night after stopping the vehicle.

In the FIR, the general secretary of Gausala said that the Maruti Van ( ML05F 5139) which was used to carry milk for delivery, was obstructed on

Friday night at the road adjacent to the official residence of Congress legislator DD Lapang at around 8:10 pm.

The occupants of a vehicle without any number plate and with only AF ( applied for) which was coming from the opposite side, stopped the milk van, beat up the driver and took the van car key and ran away, the FIR said.

“We had no other option than to leave the vehicle there after pushing it adjacent to CRPF gate and today morning we had to take the vehicle to Banalari workshop as no duplicate key was available”, the FIR said. According to the complaint, the lock system was changed costing Rs.8,500.

The complainant also asked the police to check the rampant violation of vehicle rules by miscreants by way of pasting ‘Applied For’ without proper registration and black films to commit the crime.
