Imphal: Normal life was affected here today due to a stir protesting killing of a 32 year old woman . The body of the woman identified as N Satyabhama was found at Bashikhong Wangkhei Loumanbi , Imphal East district on Friday afternoon.
JAC against the killing called indefinite strike from 6 am Saturday. Most educational institutes remained closed and roads were blocked on national highway from Imphal to Moreh. Security was beefed up at Kakwa area from where the woman hailed.
She was working as Junior Research Fellow at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences. Protesters put up placards and shouted slogans demanded arrest and punishment of those involved in the crime. Manipur police personnel have seized all her belongings which were found near the dead body and investigations were going on to arrest those involved in the killings. (UNI)
