NONGPOH: Peeved with no action from Assam Government in dismantling the entrance gate and the SBI Bank building at Sabuda in Block-II area of Ri-Bhoi district, the CSWO (Irene group) and the KSU North Khasi Hills unit have decided to take the matter into their own hands and dismantle the two illegal constructions.

Informing this to The Shillong Times on Sunday evening, CSWO (I) general secretary Christable Wanniang said that the CSWO and KSU will dismantle the entrance gate and the SBI bank building on April 12 at 11 AM.

Asked for the reason behind such drastic action, the CSWO leader said, “We have waited long enough to allow the State Government to take necessary steps to stop Dispur from exerting their supremacy in Block-II”.

“Dispur is not paying any heed to the demands of Meghalaya for stopping their acts and they have been regularly violating the Status Quo agreement between the two states,” she said.

The CSWO leader also urged upon all social organizations to lend support to their action against the Assam Government’s show of strength.
