NONGSTOIN: In a first of its kind initiative, a cleanliness drive initiated by the district administration in Nongstoin saw people removing garbage from the river Nonbah.

Equipped with locally made rafts, residents from all walks of life took up the cause of cleaning the garbage strewn by neighbourhood shops into the river, besides cleaning the town. The drive also saw the participation from heads of all departments and NGOs like the KSU, FKJGP and WYF.
