Garo Hills SSA teachers demand salary hike

SHILLONG: The All Garo Hills SSA LP/UP School Teachers Association reiterated their demands for increment in the salary of SSA teachers in view of the rising cost of living.

In a memorandum re-submitted to the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma here recently, the Association said that they are being pad a lump sum amount of Rs 6000 with even deduction of Rs 1000 per month from the head teachers of West Garo Hills district during April 2011 -March 2012 for unknown reasons.

According to the group, all the existing SSA teachers in the State should be absorbed regularized besides all the teachers should be deputed for DIET training irrespective of the percentage of marks obtained during the final exams.

It may be mentioned that the group of teachers had earlier submitted their memorandum in December last year.
