SHILLONG: Home Minister Roshan Warjri informed that a total number of 265 posts from the ongoing police recruitment rally would be absorbed in the traffic management duties.

Replying to a query raised by HSPDP legislator Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit during the Question Hour in the Assembly, Warjri said that the ongoing recruitment process had been put on hold due to the recent Assembly elections.

“The first phase involving physical tests has been completed. The second phase of the recruitment which is written and personality test are due to be conducted soon,” Warjri said.

NCP legislator Sanbor Shullai sought a clarification if the State Job Reservation Policy is strictly being implemented in the recruitment of police personnel, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said that the Government has always adhered to the job reservation policy while filling up vacancies in the police department.

“It is totally misleading to say that the Home department had violated the job reservation policy,” the Chief Minister said.
