NEC Secretary appointed

SHILLONG: Ameising Luikham, an IAS officer from the Manipur-Tripura (1981 batch) has been appointed as the Secretary of the North Eastern Council.

NEC member PP Shrivastava on Friday told The Shillong Times that Luikham was appointed to the post which was lying vacant since March 31.

UK Sangma, who was earlier holding the post of Secretary of the NEC, has been appointed as the Secretary, Ministry of DoNER.

Luikham is likely to assume charge in soon.
