Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Ravi Rampaul said the team has the firepower to win matches even without any contribution from Chris Gayle.

“Even when Gayle doesn’t perform, there are other young Indian players waiting for the opportunity to prove themselves. They haven’t got a chance yet because Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are performing well. Our batting has not really gone down to the tail. They are ready and waiting for the opportunity,” Rampaul said on Monday.

Replying to a query, Rampaul said the team’s execution at death overs was dismal and they need to work on it.

“Once we get that right, all our performances will be lifted. I am comfortable bowling at all times of the innings. Whatever the captain and the bowler decide, the execution is the key. There are a lot of games coming up and so there are lot of opportunities,” he said. (PTI)
