Code of conduct violation

M S Sangma, MCS, Returning Officer of 35-Ranikor Constituency lodged a complaint that P K Raswai, UDP Candidate and Ketson Ch. Sangma, Independent Candidate had violated Election Code of Conduct during the last Assembly Election 2013.

Death

On April 19 around 5 pm, two persons, Md. Monirul Haque (18) and Md. Hamidul Ali (18) were found lying dead inside a room of the under-construction building at Langkyrding, Shillong. Cause of death is suspected to be suffocation due to burning of charcoal inside the room.

Assault

On April 18 around 4 pm, Jhuma Sen assaulted her father, Debendra Paul (58) in his residence at Zikzak Road, Rilbong, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and shifted was shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

Arson

On April 17 around 11:30 pm, unknown miscreants set fire to a Mahindra Pick-up vehicle (ML-10-4859) belonging to Training Sawkmie at Mawsadang village (EKH).

Theft

lOn April 17 at about 4:30 pm, unknown miscreants stole a motorcycle (ML-05H-2041) belonging to Larikupar Kharmalki from his residence at Rynjah, Shillong.

lOn April 16 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-09-3519) belonging to Bullarsh R Sangma from his residence at Civil Hospital Compound, Baghmara (SGH).

lOn April 16 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-09A-1671) belonging to Charchil Ch Marak from his residence at Asim Chiring, Baghmara (SGH).

lMustafa Choudhury lodged a complaint at Nangalbibra PS that on April 14 night, his Bolero vehicle (AS-18C-4390) was stolen by his driver Habibul Rahman from Jadi Bazar (SGH).

lOn April 13 around 6 pm, local residents of Manikganj Bazar (NGH), apprehended one Justin Marak while he was attempting to steal a bicycle belonging to Nirendro Rava from Manikganj Bazar (NGH).

Robbery

On April 13 around 9:30 am, four unidentified miscreants armed with Dao and Khukri committed robbery from a Tata Sumo (AS-18-4137) and other vehicles at Dambo NH-62 (EGH). Police rushed to the spot and conducted search in the nearby jungle where one of the miscreants, Jamesfield N. Marak (30) was arrested while three others managed to escape. Police recovered Rs. 5,400 and one cell-phone from his possession. In the incident, Azijur Hoque, handyman of the Tata Sumo sustained injuries.

Threat

On March 23, one Haring Lyngdoh threatened the VDP Members of Kremmyrsaing village (WJH) with dire consequences.
