SHILLONG: The State police arrested one Yarti K Syntiew for killing her nine-month-old baby by drowning her in Kynshi River at Ksehkomoit village (WKH) on Tuesday.
It is learnt that the body which was floating in the river was first noticed by the villagers.
Soon after seeing the body, the villagers informed the police about the incident and accordingly the body was taken by Mairang police for post mortem.
However, soon after the incident, the lady was admitted to National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, (NIMHANS), Shillong and sources said that the lady has depicted some features of psychosis.
