Murder accused granted ‘Interim bail’

 JOWAI: One of the six accused in the Kyndongtuber murder case, Marcilus Rymbai of Wapungskur village has obtained an Interim bail from the local court here.

Sources said, the accused who has been absconding after the murder of two coal businessmen, Wit Latam and Troman Tangliang of Myntriang village on January 5 and suddenly appeared in the Police Station with the Interim bail in his hand.

“He appeared in Jowai PS on Thursday and the interim bail that has been granted to him by the local court”, sources said adding that the interim bail will valid only up to Tuesday (May 23).

Speaking to West Jaintia Hills SP, H Lyngdoh confirmed that the local court has granted interim bail to one of the absconding accused.

“We will sent a report to the court and pray that the bail should not be made absolute”, Sources also said, all six accused, four from Kyndongtuber including Deimon Dkhar and Pynbait Talang along with two girls and the two others- Thomas Jone Ryngkhlem and Marcilus Rymbai were from Wapungskur used Rymbai’s vehicle (Maruti car) to commit the murder.

They overtook and crossed the victim’s vehicle and pulled them, following which they dragged him to a nearby jungle at a place called Lumrakhoh, Kyndongtuber. Both the coal merchants were killed and looted and their vehicle was also found abandoned in Assam. Meanwhile, the Dorbar shnong of Wapungskur in its general meeting held last Monday decided to treated both the murder accused, Thomas Jone Ryngkhlem and Marcilus Rymbai as ‘Foreigners’.

“The Dorbar shnong decided to treat them both as ‘foreiners’- they have no more place in the village and they are banned from entering the village”, the Rangbah shnong, GR Bareh said.
