BJP State unit revamped

 SHILLONG: Aiming to make an impact in next year’s Lok Sabha polls, the Meghalaya BJP unit has revamped the party set up in the State.

BJP State president KS Lyngdoh on Tuesday declared his new team of office bearers. Dipayan Chakraborty has been retained as general secretary (in charge organization) while David Ch Marak, who unsuccessfully contested the Assembly election in the State from South Tura constituency, has also been made general secretary of the party.

Lyngdoh has nominated ten state executive members including outgoing State BJP president HS Syiemlieh, Augustine Lakiang and Romeo Phira Rani.

Prof. Imdad Hussain, ED Marak, Junior Lamin and Ranadhir Deb have been appointed as vice-presidents while Sanjib Baidya and HS Myrthong have been named as secretaries.

Moon Pyrbort was named the treasurer.
