Miscreants held

On April 22, residents of Golf Link, Shillong apprehended two persons Manirul Sheikh (18 ) and Md. Alam Badshal (24 ) while they were attempting to enter the house of one Miss Princy Songthiang at Golf Link, Shillong with criminal intention. Later, they were handed over to Police at Pasteur Beat House.

Forcible possession

Nintu Kuri lodged a complaint at Pynursla PS that on April 22 around 4 pm, one Markos Khongsam snatched away the key of his vehicle and one mobile-phone at Mynriang village. In the meantime, two more persons Tensing Khonglah and Wilson Mukhim came out from a nearby jungle and drove his vehicle along with the victim towards Pynursla. However, on reaching at Pongtung, he shouted for help where he was rescued by the villagers. Police arrested the accused persons.

Theft

Shashikant Sharma lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that Sirajuddin Borbhuiya, driver of truck (NL-01G-6715) belonging to M/s Star Cement Ltd., had stolen three tyres with rims from the truck. On April 21, the truck was found abandoned at Umtyra village.

On April 18 around 2 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle belonging to Larry K. Kharmalki from his residence at Umpling Dong Surok, Shillong.

Nober Nongspung lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on April 14 around 7.30 am, unknown miscreants stole Rs. 9 lakh and documents of his vehicle (ML-05D-5034) from Mawdiangdiang

Duped

Jobang B. Marak lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on Apr. 6, one Techang Marak introduced himself as an employee of MeECL and took Rs. 5,600/ each from him and three others at Matchakolgre, Tura (WGH), with a promise to provide them permanent electricity connection.

Threat

Kanta Chakravarty of UBI Nongthymmai Branch, lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on December 10, and February 10, 2013 he received two letters from the President of RDKF Business Group threatening him with dire consequences.

FICN racketeer

BSF troops of Chandaboi in West Garo Hills apprehended one Indian FICN racketeer Nalini Marak. During search the party recovered FICN face value Rs 20,000. The seized FICN was being smuggled from Bangladesh and was meant for circulation in the Indian market.

Smuggler apprehended

BSF troops of Nokchi in West Garo Hills apprehended one Bangladeshi smuggler Pradeep Barman, while he was trying to exfiltrate into Bangladesh from India. During search the party recovered 10 gms of ganja, and other items from his possession.
