Agartala: The six-day Budget session of Tripura Assembly would begin on April 26 next.

On the first day, Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury would place Budget for the 2013-14 financial year, according to the business prepared by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) headed by Speaker Ramendra Chandra Debnath.

Besides a Bill- Prevention of Atrocities on Medicare Personnel’ which was cleared by the government would be tabled in the Budget session.

Earlier, the Assembly approved a supplementary grants and vote on account for four months last month.

The full-fledged Budget was not tabled in the brief session of the Assembly due to election process.

Though only few days are left for commencement of Budget session, main opposition Congress is yet to elect its leader for the House.

Out of total ten MLAs, at least three legislators want to become leader of Congress Legislator Party (CLP) that resulted in chaos in electing leader.

Sources claimed, PCC president Sudip Roy Barman had already tendered his resignation to lead the party in the Assembly.

However, two former PCC presidents- Birajit Sinha and Gopal Roy are against of Mr. Roy Barman for the coveted post. Both are trying hard to become CLP leader.

Even as Congress is in dilemma centering CLP leader, there are indications the Budget session would be stormy with the opposition contemplating to ‘attack’ the government on the recent attack on patient party and scabies at the state’s premiere hospital- GBP Hospital on April.

Sensing the trouble, the government had already ordered magistrate level inquiry into the incident.

The report on the probe is scheduled to be placed before the government on April 5.

Besides the GBP Hospital mayhem, opposition legislators look set to raise the issue of post-poll violence across the state during the Budget session.
