State MLAs to undergo training from Monday

New Delhi: For the first time as many as 42 legislators belonging to all political parties from Meghalaya will meet President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhawan here on May Day.

The newly-elected legislators, most of them first timers, will be led by Speaker Abu Taher Mondal, who has already reached the national capital.

The MLAs will reach here on Saturday to attend a two-day training programme on legislative practices from Monday organised by the Parliament in Parliament House.

The visiting team does not include ministers and senior legislators.
