SHILLONG: The Health Minister AL Hek on Saturday launched Megha Health Insurance Scheme at Lower Mawprem and Upper Mawprem in the presence of local MLA, Paul Lyngdoh and traditional heads.

Large number of beneficiaries gathered on the occasion.

The awareness programme on how to avail the scheme will continue for the next four days so that the beneficiaries can register themselves.

Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister lauded the efforts of legislator Paul Lyngdoh to help to launch the schemes in the area. The Minister reminded the people that Lyngdoh was not a leader of his constituency alone, but he was also a leader of the whole State.

Similar programmes will be launched on Monday at Nongsohpoh (Naspatigari) and Mawbah (Barapathar).
