Services win national archery c’ship

 SHILLONG: The  Services archery team, trained and administered by Army Archery Node at 58 Gorkha Training Centre Shillong, has won the 20th Senior National Archery Championship (Indian Round) held in Raipur (Chhattisgarh).

More than 200 archers from 32 teams belonging to various states, para military forces and central armed police forces took part.

The final in the team event (Olympic Round) were held between Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) and West Bengal.

Presently the Node at 58 GTC Shillong has a strength of 26 archers and the most notable performer has been Subedar Tarundeep Rai, who represented the country in the Athens and London Olympics.
