SHILLONG:Former KHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) CB Syiem has landed into a controversy after he reportedly used the letter head of MTDC vice chairman despite the post being de-notified after the formation of the new Government.

As per the letter, which is available with The Shillong Times, Syiem had written to one Ashok Shair on April 27 asking him to provide utensils to Seng Longkmie Ngiangborithem.

When contacted, official sources confirmed that the post of all vice chairmen and members of various corporations and boards including the MTDC was de-notified after the formation of the new Government.

Official sources also revealed that MTDC chairman David A Nongrum had intended to convene a board meeting which had to be postponed since the board has been de-notified.

When contacted, Syiem said that he never realized that he has written the letter on the letter head of the MTDC vice chairman.

“It was an honest mistake. I have no evil motive in using the letter head,” the former KHADC CEM said, while adding that he was aware that the post of the MTDC vice chairman had been de-notified.
