SPTS driver held

The Madanrting Traffic Branch on Tuesday caught one driver of an SPTS Bus (ML 01 6221) for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver has been identified as Kaisingh Warjri (32), resident of Pynddenumiong, Mairang.

Phensedyl, GI pipes seized

Mobile-Check-Post (MCP) of BSF while carrying out checking at Sonapur Bridge in East Jaintia Hills on Monday intercepted a Tripura-bound truck (WB-15B-4935) carrying GI Pipe. During thorough search of the vehicle, BSF personnel recovered 165 cartons containing 8,250 bottles of Phensedyl. The troops also seized 734 GI pipes. The BSF also apprehended two suspected carriers who have been identified as Raj Kumar Mahato and Tapas Mondal. During preliminary investigation, the duo informed that the GI pipes were loaded at Dulagarh, Kolkata and the Phensedyl was loaded from Guwahati and was being taken to Tripura.

Assault

On April 29 around 7.30 am, unknown miscreants assaulted one Tunel Challam (45) at Pomlahier, Mawryngkneng.

On April 28 circa 11 am, Joseph Momin (38) assaulted and injured his wife Bashisha Khyriem (38) at Mawngap.

One Meban Bina assaulted five persons, Manson Nongdhar, Donlang Nongdhar, Nicodimus Kharumnuid, Tyngshainborlang Kharsati and Joberkin Bina in his house at Diengpasoh.

Murder case

On April 29 at about 4 pm, three persons, Roi Sympli, Sai Pala and Ion Pala allegedly murdered one Dumi Bamon at Sakhain village in East Jaintia Hills. Police have arrested Roi Sympli.

Theft cases

On April 28 around 1 pm, unknown miscreants stole a car tape from a Maruti car (ML-04A-2755) belonging to Heimon-Me Lamare, which was parked at Laitumkhrah, Shillong.

Lasthobirth D Sangma of the District TB Control Society, South Garo Hills, lodged a complaint that on April 27 night, unknown miscreants stole one Government sanctioned Bolero (ML-01-5872) from his garage at RC Road, Tura.

On April 27 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08-9468) belonging to Heman A Sangma from Chitoktak, Tura.

AK Bhandari lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that unknown miscreants stole twenty-five security fencing posts from MES area, Shillong.

8 held for drunken revelry

Rilbong police on Monday night rounded up eight youths from near Sankar Dev College for drinking inside the vehicle. East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang said that police was taking serious note of such acts and has stepped up vigil across the city.
