I remember how I walked through the gates of Loreto Convent
Pigtails, nervous eyes and a soft smile on my nude lips
Non-vivid memories flash across my mind and now I look at those 11 years as they sting my eyes
“I’m not ready to go”, I say
But the days are numbered by each day
All I’m asking for is a rewind key to the very beginning of the sweetest journey of my life
I know from here, it’s all a new start
But how can I not miss the house of my heart?
I’ll hold on to only those memories of laughter and fun
Though countless mistakes made and tears cried will still come to haunt…
Goodbyes and farewells – we all go through it
But past my fake smile and tears; I’m ready for an adventure ahead
Loreto has built me strong and steady for a new step in life
Leaving home won’t be so easy; I’ve realized
In less than a year I won’t be getting up for school anymore
And this red and grey uniform would only be behind my cupboard’s door
Hanging still – it won’t be worn anymore
Each room holds a picture with gems of the most beautiful memories I’ve lived
How I wish I can freeze the hour glass to a stand still
Because through everything past and gone
I’d do it all over again
Since these moments live on and on
Like a painting in my mind
I cherish all of our times
Spent together and apart
With people close to my heart
I’ll rewrite it again and again
Au revoir family and friends
Au revoir my second home
Au revoir my Loreto…
