Nagaland Mothers’ organisation condemns Kiphire violence

Kohima: The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has expressed deep displeasure and vehemently condemned the Kiphire incident led by the Captain of the 7th Assam Rifles, which escalated to public unrest and the damage of public property.

A press note issued by the Association, stated that it strongly condemns the behavior of Assam Rifles for harassing children, and that such inhuman acts and harassment to innocent Naga public cannot be tolerated by the Naga people.

It further stated that the Assam Rifles action is totally against Peace and appealed to the ‘high authority of Assam Rifles’ to stop targeting and harassing the innocent public in the name of maintaining law and order.

The NMA appealed to the Assam Rifles authority to punish those involved in the incident as an exemplary and to the State Government to look into the matter. (UNI)
