Awareness programme
The office of the general manager, District commerce and industries centre, Jowai will organise an awareness programme on May 7 at Thangbuli village in War Jaintia and on May 8 at Khanduli village from 11am onwards.
Annual function organised
The BSF Senior Secondary School, Umpling on Friday organised its annual function during which various cultural programmes were showcased by the talented students of the school. Inspector General, Meghalaya Frontier, Border Security Force Sudesh Kumar attended the gathering as the chief guest. During the programme talented children’s of the school showcased the rich culture of the north Eastern states and the country.
Recruitment rally
To improve the quality of life, welfare of the border population and new avenues for bringing positive changes in the life of the border population, a special recruitment rally for recruitment of male candidates in BSF, belonging to border districts of Meghalaya state will be undertaken all over the Meghalaya state from May 27 to June 19 at BSF Camp in Mawpat, BSF Camp at Khliehriat and BSF Camp at Tura in West Garo Hills district.
PET Examination
In order to prepare youths for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and written examination, BSF has been conducting pre-recruitment training at following locations all over the Meghalaya border which started from April 22 and will continue will May 21 at Mahendraganj, Dalu, Baghmara, Mahadev, Gumaghat, Dawki and Umkiang.
Office bearers
The Dorbar Shnong Upper Lumparing has elected its new office bearers for a term of two years with KS Sawain as the rangbah shnong, Dr Brando Khongsit as the secretary, Moon Nongkynrih as the assistant secretary, AP Kharbuli as the treasurer and four rangbah dong and assistant rangbah dong besides seven executive members.
