The incident occurred around 2 AM on Sunday morning when as many as fifteen men from neighbouring Hat-Singimari region of Assam crossed into Garobadha area to commit the atrocities.

The men who were reportedly armed with daggers, daos (machete) and other lethal weapons entered the village of Boldamgre, near Jongkipara, 12 kms from Garobadha town.
